Blue Hour Sunset in Hawaii

The setting sun creates orange tones among the blue tones of the clouds and the sky, silhouetting palm trees on the shore on the island of Oʻahu in Hawaiʻi, as seen during our Hawaiʻi 2023 Trip.
As I have mentioned a few times in the past, I still have lots of sunset photos from that Hawaiʻi trip, and now seemed like a good time to share one. This one looks a little similar to this photo, which makes sense because both photos were taken on the same day. But this photo has some slightly different colors than that other one, mainly due to different post-processing techniques used, and partly because of my different moods at the different times of processing. That time between when the sun sets and when it is dark is often known as Blue Hour, because everything seems to take on shades of blue, so I wanted to bring that out in this photo.
It is fun to change things up from time to time, and it is nice to reflect on the beauty of sunsets, too. So I never feel much guilt over posting yet another sunset photo.
And if you are wondering, this photo was taken near the beach at Disney’s Aulani resort, where we were staying for the trip. You can find out much more about our trip by reading the Hawaiʻi 2023 Trip Report.
Contagious
From the section heading you might be wondering, but no, I am not contagious. At least not as far as I know. I don’t even feel sick or anything. I am feeling normal, however that might look.
But just as some things we do not want can be contagious, so can good things. You might not even give a thought about stopping to look at a sunset until you see someone else looking. You might pay even more attention if they say, “Hey, that is a beautiful sunset!” And then you find yourself looking at the sunset to discover that it is indeed beautiful. That has happened to me on more than one occasion.
Something else that falls in the contagious category is love. If you have the chance to find yourself around someone who truly loves others, that love can be contagious, and you can soon find yourself wanting to love others, too. Once again, that is the good kind of contagiousness.
But you do not have to stay on the receiving side of that contagion. You can also be a spreader. You can live your life in such a way that you infect others with love because of how you love others.
Love can grow in the world, and you can help it spread.
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. - Hebrews 10:24-25
About the Photo
Sometimes, moving the color sliders just slightly can make a big difference in processing a photo. This is just my personal preference at the current moment, but I like how this photo is slightly more blue and slightly less green than the previously posted photo mentioned above. Not that there was anything wrong with that earlier photo. I just lean a little more toward these colors now. You might like that other photo better than this one, and that is just fine, too. Chances are good that when I post another sunset photo, it might look different from either of these.
