Going Out to the Beach at Cocoa Beach

This view is always a favorite of mine. Except when I am looking back over my shoulder as we are leaving the beach. Then the view is not quite as nice. But even then, the view is a reminder of a good day at the beach.

We did, in fact, have a good day at the beach. The sky was mostly clear all day long. The waves were nice but not too big. The flag was yellow, which meant to use caution due to rip tides, but that is better than a red flag. And sunscreen, an umbrella, and a hat were used to avoid too much sun exposure.

A nice beach day is always a great day!

Time Away

It is nice to have a break from the normal things. Laura and I mentioned that many times during our time away from home. We enjoy things at home, and we are blessed beyond measure. But sometimes it is nice to have a break from those responsibilities and from the normal things. Sometimes that break even helps you to appreciate those things even more. We enjoyed our time away, but we were also happy to come back home.

There are, of course, things that you cannot take a break from. You cannot truly take a break from who you are. You might pretend to be someone else for a while, but it is still really you.

And in the same way, we cannot take a break from loving others. Unless, I suppose, that you are all alone in some deserted place where no one else is around. But if you are around others, anyone at all, we still have to love them. It does not matter if we will never see them again. It does not matter if they will not be able to do something for us in return. We are still called to love everyone all of the time.

Never take a break from loving others.

Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God - 1 Peter 1:22-23

Love One Another

About the Photo

I fiddled with the colors in this photo for a while. I am a habitual color-fiddler, it seems, because I want them to look just right. It was a bright, sunny day when we were at Cocoa Beach, and I wanted the colors in the photo to reflect that. So this photo ended up looking nice and bright. Maybe next time I will do something different with a beach photo, or maybe not.
