On the Beach at Waikiki

Looking down the shore at Waikīkī Beach on the island of Oʻahu during our 2023 Hawaiʻi Trip, because you can never have enough beach photos.
Believe it or not, this photo was not used in part 9 of the trip report, although the trip report does have a photo looking down this same general direction at Waikīkī. And this photo has much different processing than those trip report photos, too.

This photo also looks similar to a photo in that trip report, but this is an alternate exposure from the one that I used in the report.
I was never quite happy with the way that trip report photo turned out. Since this photo is one of two in this post instead of one of however many were in the trip report post, I could spend a little more time making it look better. So I did.
Why share some beach photos taken during a trip that was over a year ago? Because sometimes I like to just remember the beach and the good times that we had there. And these were quite good times, too. After seeing so much of Waikīkī Beach on television for so long, it was fun to get to see it in person
By the way, the title of this post comes from a song of the same title written way back in 1915.1 The song was then used in the 1937 Mickey Mouse short Hawaiian Holiday, which was set at Waikīkī Beach. I could not help hearing the song in my head when we were actually at Waikīkī, and it still goes through my mind when I look at these photos.2
End of Summer
As summer begins to wind down and autumn starts its approach, I often start to miss the summer days, which I greatly enjoy. And when I do, I start to look back on summer memories, even memories from past summers before this one, as I mentioned above. I like to focus on the things I enjoy, rather than focusing on the cold winter weather that is inevitably coming our way. Think warm thoughts.
And as we work to love one another, it is good to think about the positive things, too. Not that we overlook the bad things, but rather we try to work through them while we focus on the positive.
If we are looking for the good things, we will find them.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. - Philippians 4:8
About the Photos
As with the previous photos from Cocoa Beach here and here, these photos use the same highly-saturated preset, although I made a few tweaks for each photo. And depending on your monitor or phone settings, the colors might be too much and look a bit out of whack. Maybe I should calibrate my monitor sometime, but the colors look good to me.
